Salam all,
If we translate the word islam and Deen to english what does it mean
QXP 5:3
.....................This Day, I have perfected your DEEN for you, completed My favor upon you, and chosen for you Islam as the System of Life. (There is no hardship in Islam

does it turn out like this below
5:3
......................This Day, I have perfected your WAY OF LIFE for you, completed My favor upon you, and chosen for you PEACE as the System of Life. (There is no hardship in Peace)

ie does it translate no2 peace(sunni & shia)as in no2 islam.
so is islam the root of the sallam,? what does the word actually mean is it like the english there, their just different spellings meaning the same thing with different grammatical meanings.
as in,

am I/are we a muslim following islam
am I/are we a submitter following peace
muslim=?
islam=?
sallam=?
Allah=? (is it a name or is it arabic for THE GOD since when we translate Allah its translated simply as God without name
Would my reply to a inquisitive questioner be? I am a follower of Peace/ I am a submitter
Like a form filling which asks the question what denomination etc

After all this why do we translate words, but not other words DEEN, ISLAM + other which would abolish the need for folk to ask questions like "excuse what does Deen mean" Mm! "it means way of life"
as in the verse 5:3 using DEEN in the Tranlation does not make Sense since it is not in the english vocabulary and constantly needs an explanation. how many words of arabic in quran cannot or dont have any alternative rendition?
Bit of clarification for those of us not so good on langauge/grammer please
