Written for all who are suffering from injustices. I pray we recognize that the Quran is our only hope.
The coffin of her father right in front of her eyes
The 6 year old Fatima sits close to him and cries
The feelings of a daughter after her father dies
In a little wooden box, her loving father lies.
He went to the mosque and said he will be back
She looked out the street through a tiny little crack
Abba had said he would bring her back a treat
She raced to the door, but silent was the street
“Blood was everywhere”, she heard one man say
“Oh Allah! why us? We had just gone to pray”
They said they will revenge the murders of that day
The mob stormed out…and there her father lay
She stared at the mass to make out who it is
She wiped the blood off and gave the forehead a kiss
“Abba, come back”…the innocent Fatima sighs
“I will never bother you… won’t ask for any toys”
Fatima, my sister, no one will feel your pain
Because, we all have a little of your father’s blood stain
You can reach out to the world, if you really want to try
The numbers of those killed have made us immune to your cry
Where will you find brothers who will feel your pain?
Those whose hearts will cry for every Muslim slain
We are numb Fatima, we can’t feel anything anymore
But we will ask our leaders how to feel; that we will for sure
Umar might hear you Fatima, for he has felt this too
His mother was his world, but he has lost her too
The 8 year old Umar, seems calm to one’s eyes
Who can however fathom, what rage in his heart lies
They burnt his poor mother, because she was “different”.
She yelled she had 5 kids, but they were just indifferent
She asked for some mercy, but they were deaf and dumb
As Um-Umar burns, this whole Ummah is numb
He would not believe it, the burns were so deep
His mother was alive; he was not going to weep
He waited for so long, praying to Allah all night
But he finally gave in, when he could no longer fight
Not even a chance to say good-bye, one last kiss?
This is how we revenge?…is this really justice?
Where are those sisters who could wipe off his tears?
Where is the Deen that will uproot all these fears?
As the entire Ummah questions Allah in despair
As the fortunate lay silent, because of their fear
Waiting for a savior they are looking everywhere
Who will warn them that their destruction is near?
Insaan has lost his Jannah due to his rebellious desire
Branching into sects, he is engulfed in his own fire
Dividing up mankind, that is the forbidden fruit
This tree of prejudice must be cut at its root
Umar and Fatima, you need not loose any hope
Allah will respond to you, just hold onto His rope
Patiently persevere and guidance He will give
A clear message for those who have the urge to live
We have to look no further than al-Furqan
The resurgence of Islam must start with the Quran
This guiding light will lead us out of stagnation
This is the only way for Jannat’s reclamation
