6:145 Say, "I do not find in the revelation given to me, any food that is prohibited for one who wishes to eat, except: Carrion (dead meat), or running blood, or the flesh of swine – for it is a barrier to moral development. Or, anything (not just meat) that, in defiance to commands, has been dedicated to other than God.” If one is forced by dire need without being deliberate and without transgressing, your Lord is Forgiving, Merciful.
I keep presenting this verse and no-one has produced any argument against it for not denying any animal other than those from 5:3 “Forbidden to you (for food) are: Carrion, blood, the flesh of swine, anything (not just meat) that has been dedicated to any other than God” etc.
Livestock, herbivores, are mentioned as permissible as this negates the false Hindi practices. Vegetation are halal but includes poisonous mushrooms so we cannot eat everything, which means that the animal must be ‘clean’ enough to eat and a blanket ban on carnivorous animals does not take this into account.
What does Brother Joseph have to say on this or are those making my ratatouille and hot dog haram going to ignore it?
