Khadim Hussain Rizvi was a great orator and a fire brand religious figure of Pakistan
His knowledge of Iqbal’s poetry and love for the exalted Prophet was overwhelming. He had a very large following, some say in the millions, within Pakistan and abroad. His support of the “blasphemy law” to the extent of extrajudicial punishment without the due process of law, earned him the scorn of the establishment and the nickname of “blasphemy activist”.
He is reported to have died of Coronavirus on the 19th of November. His funeral was on the 21st of November and attended by a gathering of approximately 15 million people who did not follow the COVID-19 guidelines of using a face mask or keeping the mutual distance. Even if 1% of the crowd gets affected by the virus, this gathering can impact the health of approximately 150,000 people. God forbid.
