The Fiqh Council of North America issued a statement suggesting that Friday prayers at home following an online line live khutbah should not be encouraged.
When Muslims are asked to shorten their prayers during travel and combine prayers during emergencies and asked to do tayammum when water is not available, then why cannot they pray Juma following an Imam from a physical distance? The rules of flexibility are there in the Quran and those rules should be following during the pandemic.
