Dear Dr. Shabbir Ahmed,
Salamun Alaykum
I know that sectarianism is Shirk, and something confused me:
According to information on the web, even great Mu'min Muslims such as King Faisal (Hanbali Sunni) or Muhammad Asad (Sunni) actually belonged to some sect.
Does God absolve this common imperfection (as well as other different kinds of Shirk) of almost all today Muslims, and still consider them as Mumin and Muslim?
Thank you so much in advance.
