Writing PBUH after Prophet Muhammad’s or any Prophet’s name is wrong. PBUH = Peace be upon him!

PBUH by default means that the exalted Prophet needs our prayers for peace. But Muslims have been committing this error for centuries.
It is the Mullahs who need peace from their N2I (The Number Two Islam). Will they and their blind followers ever understand?
Most Shi'ah scholars do better. They simply say RASOOL, HUZOOR, ANHAZRAT, AAQA, HABIB or NABI and move on.
Now, the Salawaat as given in the Qur’an:

“InnAllaha Wa Malaaikatuhu Yusalloona 'Alan-Nabi. Ya Aiyyuhallazeena Aamanoo! Salloo ‘Alayihi Wa Sallimoo Tasleema.”

33:56 Verily, Allah and His angels send blessings to the Prophet and support his Mission. O You who have chosen to be graced with belief! Salute him and give yourself up to his Mission in complete submission. (4:65, 7:157, 33:43).
Suggestion: We can state - The exalted Prophet, Muhammad (S), Prophet (S), Nabi Sal’am, Rasool-e Kareem, Huzoor-e Akram, AanHazrat, Nabi Kareem, The Prophet (salutes to him)
Incidentally, here is the Salawat on Mu’mineen.

33:43 He it is Who sends blessings on you, as do His angels, that He may bring you from darkness into Light. He is full of grace to those who choose to believe. (2:155-157, 9:10314:1, 14:15, 33:56)
Salutations to other prophets - 37:79-109-120-130-181.
