This Journalist was Fired for Arguing There are Only Two Sexes

A Denver Post columnist – keenly aware of his revisionist progressive environment – recently had the courage of his conviction to argue that there are only two sexes in one of his pieces.
This didn’t sit well with the leftist publication, and within a matter of weeks after making the obvious observation the Post fired columnist Jon Caldara.
Caldara, who is also the president of the libertarian Independence Institute, announced last Friday that he has been fired from the Post, chalking it up to “a difference in style” that his editors found “too insensitive.”
“My column is not a soft-voiced, sticky sweet NPR-styled piece which employs the language now mandated by the victim-centric, identity politics driven media,” he said in a Facebook post.
Adding, “What seemed to be the last straw for my column was my insistence that there are only two sexes and my frustration that to be inclusive of the transgendered (even that word isn’t allowed) we must lose our right to free speech.”
“I don’t care who uses whose bathroom, what you wear, or how you identify. People from this community have rights which we must protect,” Caldara went on, “But to force us to use inaccurate pronouns, to force us to teach our kids that there are more than two sexes, to call what is plainly a man in a dress, well not a man in a dress violates our right of speech.”
Aside from his logical conclusions, regarding gender-bending, Caldara’s other sin was apparently criticizing the esteemed Associated Press directly challenging their revisionist theory that sex and gender are not binary, which no doubt sent shivers throughout both politically correct newsrooms.
“There are only two sexes, identified by an XX or XY chromosome. That is the very definition of binary. The AP ruling it isn’t so doesn’t change science. It’s a premeditative attempt to change culture and policy. It’s activism,” he wrote on January 3rd.
Once the gauntlet was thrown down challenging the AP, it was just a matter of time before the upstart critical thinking scribe would feel the wrath of his own paper, for questioning the new and improved cultural definition of gender.
Caldara, however, continued pushing buttons, writing a scathing article just two weeks after his AP smack-down. This time challenging another progressive taboo regarding the 2019 Colorado Law, forcing elementary school children to be instructed in transgender culture, without parental involvement
“Some parents weren’t thrilled a couple of years back when during school their little ones in Boulder Valley School District were treated to videos staring a transgender teddy bear teaching the kids how to misuse pronouns or when Colorado’s ‘Trans Community Choir’ sang to kids about a transgender raven,” Caldara wrote. “What are the protections for a parent who feels transgender singing groups and teddy bears with gender dysphoria might be ‘stigmatizing’ for their kid?”
According to “Westword” Caldara was fired by Megan Schrader, the paper’s editorial page editor.
“Megan told me I was the page’s most-read columnist. But there’s now a permanently and perpetually offended class, and in order to speak, you need to use their terminology. There’s a whole lot of you-can’t-say-that-ism going on right now.”
In an email to the Washington Free Beacon, Schrader confirmed that she fired Caldara but declined to discuss the reason.
“I am writing a job description as we speak to fill his position,” she said. “I hope that conservative Colorado writers will apply knowing that we value conservative voices on our pages and don’t have a litmus test for their opinions.”
Obviously her rational flies in the face of fact, Caldara was fired because he dared to question progressive orthodoxy, in that we live in a perpetual culture of progressive revisionism, where class-warfare and identity politics defines who we are, and where victimization is continually celebrated long after those egregious acts have been eliminated from society.
Conservative writers like Caldara will always have a target on their backs, especially working for a progressive tabloid, if they veer too far to the right, questioning radical convoluted progressive dogma, they’re out.
Today, every manner of oddity is celebrated under the banner of “diversity” which is indeed a credit to our society, however by that same innate tolerance “diversity of thought” must also be celebrated.
