Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Bangladesh on Wednesday expressed concern over Tuesday evening’s attacks on its mosque and houses after spreading rumours at Kandipara in Brahmanbaria town.
Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Bangladesh’s press and media section in-charge Ahmad Tabshir Chowdhury, in a statement, said that a group of bigots, by spreading rumour that ‘Quadianis beat madrassah students’ made the local people agitated and attacked ‘Masjid Baitul Wahed’, vandalised its windows, a parked microbus of the community and nearby houses of Ahmadiyyas on Tuesday evening.
It said that the police, being informed of the attack, rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
The statement said that the situation was tense in the area and the bigots were spreading rumour using different social media in a bid to attack again.
