Last week I visited a Gurdwara along with my family. It was a pleasant experience.Major part of the prayers involve the singing of hymns. Every devotee entering the Gurdwara prostrated before the Guru Garanth Sahab. There were no sermons during the time we were there. In the basement plenty of food was available for everyone. They call it Langar. 'Sewa' (Khidmat) is foremost in Sikh religion.Just to be on the safe side, we did not consume anything. I just wanted to know whether it is appropriate for a Muslim to eat from the Langar ? Is the food dedicated to any deity or Guru ?I have heard that many Muslims in in the West eat regularly in Gurdwaras.
