A Conversation with the Exalted Messenger [AS]. Quran Alone
When a person hears the words of the Prophet Muhammad (AS), they have only two options: either obey or disobey the Prophet. Muslims in general go on about this a lot, posing statements that they believe the Prophet (AS) said, and claim that if a person doesn't follow them then they are hell worthy; yet those statements are far stretched from the statements the Prophet makes in the Fully Detailed and Complete Quran. In the Last post I gave Ayats that related to what the people ask of the Prophet and his replies to them; this post and the following posts will show, from the Quran (which we all believe in, apparently), what Allah told the Prophet (pbuh) to say (Qul) to people.
As I’ve already mentioned, the Prophet Muhammad [AS] is quoted 322 times to say certain things to the people, there are many more instances where Allah tells the Prophet to say things but they are in a different manner. Once you hear the Prophet's answers; what you feel and think after that will expose whether you are a believer, a nonbeliever, or a hypocrite; so please think about how you felt and if you indeed are striving to be Heaven Worthy then pay attention to the words of the Quran. I ran into well over 20 posts to get all the Qul’s to you so I am going to try shorten it.
I want to do this exercise to know the answers from Prophet Muhammad [AS]. Though God is answering all the questions for us, the posts are done in a manner to be able to know the Prophet (pbuh)'s Sunnah, in his words that are well documented in the Quran. I got carried away with the questions and so some of them are answered by Allah and the ones that start “say” are answered by the Prophet. I was in tears after hearing some of the answers. SubhanAllah, God is the Greatest (AllahuAlKabeer). So let's ask the Prophet a few questions as though he was amongst us even today and see if the answers are indeed in the Quran itself.
1. Who are you?
Say, "O mankind, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you all, the One for Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. THERE IS NO GOD EXCEPT HIM (LailahaillaHuwa); He gives life and causes death." So believe in Allah and His Messenger, the gentile prophet, the one who believes in Allah and His words, and follow him that you may be guided. (7:158).
2. Can I come to your house to have conversations with you?
God: "O you who have believed, DO NOT ENTER THE HOUSES OF THE PROPHET EXCEPT WHEN YOU ARE PERMITTED FOR A MEAL, without awaiting its readiness. But when you are invited, then enter; and WHEN YOU HAVE EATEN, DISPERSE WITHOUT SEEKING TO REMAIN FOR CONVERSATION. Indeed, THAT WAS TROUBLING THE PROPHET, and he is shy of dismissing you. But Allah is not shy of the truth." (33:53).
3. What do you follow?
Say, "I ONLY FOLLOW WHAT IS REVEALED TO ME FROM MY LORD. THIS [QURAN] IS ENLIGHTENMENT FROM YOUR LORD AND GUIDANCE AND MERCY FOR A PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE." (7:203).
4. What are you commanded?
Say, “I AM COMMANDED TO BE OF THE MUSLIMS (SUBMITTERS), AND TO RECITE THE QURAN.” (27:92).
5. What do you believe in?
Say, "We have believed in Allah and what has been revealed to us and what has been revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims (Submitters) to Him." (2:136).
Say, "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you. And our God and your God is one; and we are Muslims (submitters) to Him." (29:46)
6. What is your role as a Prophet?
God: "God took a covenant from the Prophets, saying, “I WILL GIVE YOU THE BOOK AND WISDOM. Afterwards, a messenger will come to confirm all existing scriptures. YOU SHALL BELIEVE IN HIM AND SUPPORT HIM.” He said, “Do you agree with this, and pledge this covenant?” they said, “We agree.” He said, “You have thus borne witness, and I bear witness along with you." (3:81).
7. Did God tell you if there will be any more Prophets after you?
God: MUHAMMAD IS NOT THE FATHER OF ANY ONE OF YOUR MEN, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the LAST OF THE PROPHETS. (33:40).
[My 2 cents on ? 7- Allah in His Infinite Wisdom and Knowledge –knows His servants and the drama they have played and still playing. A recent post of Current Imam linking him to the Prophet.]
