Merry Christmas used to be about celebrating the birth of Jesus, now it is a game of who gets what gift no matter the price! Eid has gone the same way. Starve yourself during daylight, or half days as they tend to sleep till 1 or 2 pm in the afternoon, forget about what they should be strengthening themselves with, Qur'anic Guidance, and after 29/30 days a feast of gluttony! Oh yes, send aftari to neighbours who have more food than they can eat so pass it on to the next neighbour!
Celebrate Eid by doing something that makes celebrating worthwhile. Read, understand and implement the Qur'an in your daily life, change yourself and those around you for the better and rejoice that you have become to best of peoples, enjoining the right and forbidding wrong.
Ramadan= a month of training, a period in your life where you re-energize your thoughts, body; your life.
If the Qur'an has no part in this, and I do not include parrott recitation, with no understanding of the words being read, what a waste and only in religion can this happen, then do not 'celebrate', as you do not deserve this, or celebrate with the rest of the bukharian idol worshippers who are no better than the so-called Christians.
No personal offence, I am just expressing my thoughts in general at the mess the 'ummah' is in.
