This article seems to be a crude and distorted summary of RECONSTRUCTION OF RELIGIOUS THOUGHT IN ISLAM by Allama Iqbal (d.1938).
The enlightened genius, Allama Parwez (1903-1985), was made an untouchable 'wet paint' by Criminal Mullah Maududi (1903-1979) who, thus, deprived Pakistan and Muslims of a true renaissance. He did so by launching a huge campaign of false propaganda against Parwez. Maududi had vehemently opposed Quaid-e-Azam M.A. Jinnah (1876-1948) and Muslim League since 1940. The deluded lilliputian Maududi had utopia of becoming the leader of Indo-Pak independence in 1947. He was aware of his minuscule stature, so all he could do was to spew his hatred and jealousy against the League. But no candle could burn in the presence of the towering lighthouse of M.A. Jinnah.
Allama Parwez dedicated his life to the betterment of Muslims and Pakistanis but after Shaheed-e-Millat Liaquat Ali Khan (1897-1951) all governments have sided with and supported Maududi's party. Why? Because Parwez's Quranic message strikes at their vested interests. However, the message of truth is now spreading internationally. Some of Allama's work has been translated into English by his Idara Tolu Islam, Lahore. Humbly speaking, countless people consider Dr Shabbir (1947-?) a torch bearer of the same message and a worthy successor of Allama Parwez (Urdu & English), and that he has fulfilled the void left by the Allama in many areas.
The 'bipartisan' (bigoted?) but relatively rational Javed Ghamidi is better than most Mullahs but he is not even a shadow of the great Allama. In more than 35 years of his Islamic endeavors, Ghamidi, confined to Urdu, has failed to create a dent in the Mullahs' Islam (N2I) or the Pakistani thought. Why? He has been trying to sail in two boats: modernity vs orthodoxy (the timeless Qur'an vs "Imams"), in order to keep both sides deceptively happy. Efficacy? Zip, Nil, Zero.
Prof. Akbar Ahmed & Prof. Mubarak Ali are senile, retrogressive figures whose intellectual death has already occurred before their physical demise.
