Reading the post, I gather that the true value of this Imam was considered to be his ability to raise cash. But he failed and problems followed. Given how the case is described, three things are important for running mosque or church as going concern. One is money, some churches are too affluent but others are for sale based on such ability. The other is Satan without which they would go out of business. Lastly it is inner vulnerability of Muslims itself that find solace in attending mainly Friday or Traveeh and psychologically reinforce themselves seeing each other in mosque. But this is not the true concept of Mosque in Islam.
