Haram: Only Five things are Haram!
Most people think that Islam forbids (as Haram) too many things. Not really. Other than certain eatables, the Qur'an declares Haram only five things.
1. Indecent shameful deeds, open or secret.
2. Actions that hurt the ‘self’ and drag down human potential.
3. Unjust aggression.
4. Ascribing partners to God.
5. Attributing to God what you know not.
7:33 Say, "My Lord has forbidden only: Indecent shameful deeds - open or secret, actions that hurt the ‘self’ and drag down human potential, unjust aggression, that you ascribe partners to God, for which He has sent down no authority, and that you attribute to God what you know not.”
Javed Ahmed Ghamidi Saheb asserts that THERE IS NOTHING WRONG (USURY/INTEREST) ON ANY TRANSACTIONS INVOLVING USABLE THINGS. USURY/INTEREST APPLIES ONLY TO CONSUMABLE ITEMS/THINGS.
Let's reflect on the above. Please comment. We do know that there is no command in the Qur'an chastising the giver of usury.
