The writer, Yasser Latif Hamdani, needs to unlearn a lot.
Quaid-e-Azam M.A. Jinnah's speeches are well preserved in official records and numerous private publications including books written by his associates. He was not a sectarian by any means. Born into an Ismaili Khoja family yes, he had denounced all sectarianism in his teens. The enlightened Aga Khan III Sultan H. Shah had happily permitted Maryam to marry into a Sunni family.
Late Dr Israr Ahmed (d.2011) was a credible scholar I have personally known. He was a giant of the subcontinent's history. I may respectfully disagree with his theology at times but he was an upright, trustworthy man who had been an active worker of Jinnah's Muslim League as Distt Hisaar's student League president.
Col Ilahi Bakhsh was the chief physician of MAJ during his last days in 1948. His son Dr Aslam Ilahi was my teacher/professor of surgery in 1967. He used to tell us the same quote as Dr Riaz Ali Shah wrote. M.H. Isfahani, principal secretary of MAJ, has written of the episode in his biography, MY LEADER.
Plus, plus, plus. Yasser Latif Hamdani needs to UNLEARN a lot.
