Every Du'a Is Answered
The entire Cosmos is running under the Law of Cause and Effect. "The Law states (Wikipedia) that absolutely everything happens for a reason. All actions have consequences and produce specific results, as do all inactions. The choices we make are causes, whether they are conscious or unconscious, and will produce corresponding outcomes or effects. The Law works the same for everyone at all times." [See 45:22 below]
2:186 When My servants ask you about Me, surely, I am Near. I respond to the prayer of the suppliant when he calls unto Me. Let them also listen to My call, and believe in Me, so that they may be led aright.
[God’s response: A sincere caller will be shown the right direction. The caller may experience a change, feeling comforted and motivated. A du’a, as a Cause, may interact with countless Divine laws in nature to produce the Effect. And the Qur’an has answers to all their questions. 3:193-195, 7:56, 8:24, 32:15-16, 40:60, 42:25-26, 45:22, 47:7]
TERI DUA SE QAZA TAU BADAL NAHIN SAKTI
MAGAR HAI ISS SE YE MUMKIN KE TU BADAL JAAEY
(Your du'a cannot change the destiny - but it is possible that you yourself might change therewith.)
Making Du’a in itself is an action and it must have consequences according to the Law. Therefore no du’a goes unanswered. The action of making a du’a must accompany tangible action on our part in order to gain maximum impetus (47:7).
The moment we have done that, the entire universal mechanism of posting the consequences comes into play. Whether the consequences go in our favor or not (per our perception) is determined by the multitude of universal laws interacting with one another.
47:7 O You who have chosen to be graced with belief! If you help God, He will help you and He will strengthen your foothold. [Helping God indicates that His servants must take the first step]
45:22 God has created the heavens and earth with a definite purpose, and in order that every ‘self’ may be compensated for what it has earned. And no injustice will be done to them. [“There is a coherent plan in the Universe, though I don't know what it's a plan for.” - British astronomer, author, Sir Fred Hoyle]
Since we do not understand how this universal system works, our understanding of all the mechanism of du’a remains rudimentary at this stage of our knowledge.
The above submission is by no means secular since we firmly believe that God Almighty is the Creator of the Universe, and He is the Designer of His Laws most of which we do not know yet.
