We in the Palestine Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainability and the
Palestine Museum of Natural History at Bethlehem University (
palestinenature.org) want to wish you happy holidays and to tell you how
grateful we are for your partnership that allowed us to be humble servants
of humans and nature in Palestine. Thanks to your kind generocity and
support collectively we achieved much in areas of RESEARCH (about two
publications per month now, growing research collections etc), EDUCATION
(hundreds of school and university students just in the past three months
alone plus hundreds of visitors and audience members every month for our
workshops, seminars etc), CONSERVATION and SUSTAINABILITY (supporting
farmers in marginalized areas, conserving key habitats etc). We have
projects in partnership with National Geographic, Darwin Initiative,
British Council, Rotary Club, Playgrounds for Palestine, Belgian Institute
for Biodiversity, British Council, and many individual donors etc.

Two example projects done with these partnerships are rapidly advancing to
a) promote sustainability of people and nature in a world heritage site
(Al-Makhrour valley and villages around it like Battir), b) six researchers
and two managers are working to collect preserve and educate about tangible
and intangible Palestinian cultural heritage (creating a section in PMNH).
There is still time to donate tax deductible to help us (and we also
welcome other support like volunteering and donations of books or items
etc). To help, visit http://palestinenature.org or email us at

A brilliant new Initiative is an inclusive call for justice that Sabeel
(see sabeel.org) introduced but is actually a group of over 50
organizations (and growing, you can join) calling and working for
nonviolent action to achieve a just peace. We in Palestine Institute for
Biodiversity and Sustainability and the Palestine Museum of Natural History
at Bethlehem University (palestinenature.org) are proud to be part of this
coalition/network of like minded active positive and energetic people. The
initiave's website is https://kuminow.com/ Kumi means rise-up in Arabic
(and Aramaic, the language of our ancestors). Kumi Now also just published
a book which I will write a review of. But for a taste of one of the 52
weeks of action/chapters of the book you can see our entry which is 10
pages from the book of 432 pages as a sample of this amazing book full of
information and action ideas. A PDF of those 10 pages are at:
[The link also includes selected other publications from our team]
We do have copies of this excellent book at PMNH/PIBS whose revenue goes to
support the more than three dozen initiating organizations (including us
:-) so come visit us and get your copy or get it from the other sources
(again see https://kuminow.com ).

Stay Human and come visit us in Palestine [it is especially nice around
these Christmas holidays]
