So the state of the Ummah would be worse without the blasphemy laws? I didn't think we could get worse than Muslims screaming for the execution of an innocent woman. I'm reminded of the Prophet's (S) final sermon and his statement that if a non-Muslim were wronged in the Muslim state that He himself would argue on that person's behalf. The Qur'an has no punishment for blasphemy. Why do we feel that the Exalted Messenger (S) needs our protection? Take a look at the Muslim world; we have fallen so far. How much income inequality exists in the Muslim countries? How many discoveries in science and medicine take place in Muslim countries? (Muslim doctors and scientists that work in the West have done exceptional work.) We need to take a hard look at ourselves and stop considering ourselves to be perpetual victims of some wide-ranging conspiracy.
