Are you asking about the following statement?
[So the question is not about financial responsibilities at all.]
I did not write it, all the text below the stars was from Ms. Karim. In that statement, contextually, she is saying this verse does not talk about husband-wife financial responsibilities at all but about society, she did not write this part again because my question had this subject in itself.
Please see this :
[ It says nothing about wives - or women in general - being housewives as a duty (instead it tells us that both men and women keep a portion of their earnings - while the surplus is returned as either zakaat or sadaqaat). It also does not expressly say that a husband's or a man's only duty is to earn money. The verse 4:34 is about society, and not families with their many individual scenarios]
This conclusion is very rational and does not limit spouses roles only to a traditional style. So this verse does not say women have no financial responsibility, but in contrast 4:32 says women have a 'portion' from their wealth. Respectfully, i think this explanation is more close to the verse 4:34 than your explanation that this verse talks about spouses division of labour.
