I am using following metaphor to clearly understand the first sentence in line number 9 of your post:
If someone tells you are a fool. Does it bother you because you care? Or it doesn’t because you don’t care?
All I care is what Allah has said. We have best example in our beloved prophet. When people called him a madman or a magician did he added to the words of Allah to please them so they stop calling him names?
And please remember 2:79 فَوَيۡلٌ۬ لِّلَّذِينَ يَكۡتُبُونَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ بِأَيۡدِيہِمۡ ثُمَّ يَقُولُونَ هَـٰذَا مِنۡ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ لِيَشۡتَرُواْ بِهِۦ ثَمَنً۬ا قَلِيلاً۬ۖ فَوَيۡلٌ۬ لَّهُم مِّمَّا ڪَتَبَتۡ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَوَيۡلٌ۬ لَّهُم مِّمَّا يَكۡسِبُونَ
Then, lost are those (scholars) who write the Scripture with their own hands and
then claim, 'This is from God.' They traffic it for petty gains. And loss is to
them for what they write and for the illicit profits they make thereby.'
