My dear Sidqi, Bhai, sometimes you say something that is so profound, hits the point, that it is mind-blowing and at other times I want to blow my brains out!
Where in heavens name did you get the idea that I negate the Quran by the Quran? I use the Quran to better understand the Quran.
Allah is helping us how to understand words/concepts in the Quran by giving us examples of their use. Birds do salaat, shadows do sujood, etc etc etc so if you can come up with a physical ritual prayer for theses terms then something is wrong somewhere!
Salat in a nutshell is being dutiful to Allah by following everything He has commanded in the Quran in every aspect of our lives- the Quran says from morning until night and even parts of the night if necessary. Individually, when you start the day think about what you are going to do and at the end reflect what you have achieved. For communal gatherings the same applies, always keeping in mind the Quran and its highest objective of serving Allah by serving humanity.
7 billion are not falling down dead because they are doing pooja towards idols or a black cube.
Noble ideas of the Quran are there to elevate them to something better. Take it or leave it and suffer unnecessarily.
Let us assume that the Messenger made up rules for assemblies, line up, sit down, and then later others added to them and turned the rules into the reason why you assemble, a religious practice of praying etc. then the Mcdonalds analogy is not strange but a way of showing the absurdity of what has happened in mosques.
The question you should be asking is if Allah wanted us to do a physical ritual prayer why did He not give us a verse to show us what to do? Instead you have to cobble one word here with another there, take their meaning out of their Quranic context, add to this by doing the same from the hadith, the traditions and add more ‘improvements’ by the ‘scholars’ and hey presto, a ritual namaz prayer materialises.
And you say I am wasting my time! Bang!
