The Qur’an is literary work. It has to be studied and understood in that way.

For example, after Abraham rejected the religion and tradition of his father based on “sound reason and logic”, God did not give Abraham a Book of wahy like in all religions, to tell him what the Divine System was, but He showed him “the natural laws of the different dominions of the heavens and the earth”.

Why did God do this?

I am inspired to believe that God did this because He wanted Abraham to learn about the Deen of Allah from God’s Work in Nature and then learn through wahy what he could not change and what he could change in the Deen of Allah without disturbing the Truth and Reality of the Universe to make it acceptable to humans.

For example, wahy states that there are two sexes, male and female in the creations of Allah. Therefore, to cater for LGBT would be against His Law. But in the case of polygamy it would be wrong to state that that it is wrong to have more than one wife in peace time but it would not be against God’s Law to have only one wife at any one time. Likewise, I am given both sets of teeth to eat meat and veggies but the Qur’an does not stop me from being totally vegetarian. In the same way, Qur’an is silent on keeping a beard or circumcision. Hence, if I did keep a beard or circumcise, it would not be against God’s Law to do so.

Hence, there are things in the Deen of Allah that we cannot change to make it the deen of man because there are certain thing in Reality that are not different for God and man in our Universe.
