Respected Dr. Shabbir,
This is not a new question, but I have not found the answer yet:
How can we find/determine/distinguish the exact meanings of the Quraninc abbreviations, we always find different meanings and definitions for each abbreviation. For example, some books say H.M. means Hamid Majid but another says it means Hakim Majid or even you have used different meanings for A.L.M in QXP edition 2002 and later QXP editions (the first: Allah Alim Hakim, the latter: Allah Lateef Majeed) or T.S.M in Urdu QXP (QKANM) is "Tahir Seyed Morsal Muhammad" but in QXP is "Toore Sina, Musa".
How did the first companions of the Exalted Prophet and Arabs of that time distinguish the meaning of an abbreviation when they heared the words?
