Mecca Masjid Bomb Blast Verdict: MBT condemns acquittal of accused
Hyderabad, April 16: Majlis Bachao Tahreek (MBT) has strongly condemned the acquittal of all five accused in the Mecca Masjid bomb blast case and described it as a major blow to fight against terrorism.
Reacting to the judgment delivered by a special court of the National Investigation Agency on Monday, MBT Spokesperson Amjed Ullah Khan said that the acquittals in Mecca Masjid blast case clearly proves the lenient attitude of BJP Government at the Centre and TRS Government in Telangana in pursuing the cases of 'Saffron Terrorism'. He said that the court acquitted the accused as it could not find any 'direct evidence' against the accused. He alleged that the NIA has diluted its investigations at the instance of BJP Government. "TRS Government did nothing during the last four years to check the status of investigation and also to plug the loopholes," he said.
"After these acquittals who should we hold responsible for the blasts which killed nine people and injured 58 others persons? Victims of Mecca Masjid blast have been denied justice. The accused persons have been acquitted and the culprits are moving freely. It is highly shameful that the perpetrators of a terror act remained punished even after 11 years," Amjed Ullah Khan said.
Amjed Ullah Khan alleged that the NIA was being used as a tool by the BJP Government to bail out all those who were arrested in the cases related to saffron terror. He said TRS and MIM were equally responsible for this as they remained mute spectators to these developments.
The MBT leader demanded that the government should immediately approach the High Court against the NIA Court judgment.
