Jawaid Bhai, after Abraham rejected the gods, religion and traditions of his parents, he had no god, religion or tradition.

There was no one in the world to tell him which god, religion or way of life tradition he should follow.

God came to his rescue by showing “him the natural laws and forces of the heavens and the earth so that he might (with understanding) have certitude”, (Qur’an 6:75).

“Certitude” about what? ANSWER: about everything that constitutes a “complete” way of life, like that about God, science, religion, culture, politics, business, education, etc, etc.

To do this, the first thing Abraham concluded after studying “the natural laws and forces of the heavens and the earth” that God had shown him was that was a Designer and Creator of it. He was none other than God, the Mighty, the Wise, the Sustainer, Protector, etc.

Now, the thing to observe here is that he established a belief in God completely free of all dogmas and doctrines of religion, a spiritual relationship with God completely void of religion.

Hence, Abraham’s belief in God was an outcome or product of Reality and not of religion and had nothing or anything to do with religion.

Likewise, Abraham established the secular and scientific way of his way of life by studying the “natural laws and forces of the heavens and the earth”.

Thus, it was in this way, Abraham found a way to eliminate the dichotomy of the secular and religious and extremists and fundamentalists teachings and practices within and between them.

But unfortunately today, where the dichotomy of the secular and religious exists, the Word of God, even if it based on the absolute Truth and Reality of our creation and universe, is not acceptable because humans have established truths and realities of their own based on their emotions, political pressures, peer pressures, etc, and not the realities of the “natural laws and forces of the heavens and the earth”.

Allah demonstrates this fact in the case of Abraham and Lot.

For example, when Allah informed them that He was going to destroy the people of Lot for their same sex offence, both Abraham and Lot were unhappy with Allah’s decision, (Qur’an 11:74-77). In fact Abraham pleaded with Allah on their behalf but Allah did not listen to him because Allah knew that humans were weak, politically, emotionally and otherwise to preserve the “all truth” and reality of our universe.

Likewise, our emotions and political pressures do not allow us to marry more one woman at a time in peace time. Those who follow Hadith state a man can have maximum of four wives at any one given time. But “natural laws and forces of the heavens and earth” state that the meaning of “two, three, four” in Qur’an means as many as you like.

Similarly, you might not agree with the “Virgin Birth” of Mary. But the “natural laws of the heavens and the earth”, state it is possible in humans because asexual reproduction, aka Virgin Birth in common in some plants and animals like pythons and sharks. Hence, when Allah tells us in the Qur’an “Jesus is son of Mary”, it tells us without doubt that Mary was virgin when she gave birth to Jesus.

Hence, in the context of this, God does not tell us in Qur’an about circumcision and many other things like eating with the right or left hand, or eating with fork and knife or being a vegetarian, etc. Do I have an option? Would God tell me that He gave me hands and “made me perfect” and why was I eating with fork and knife? Or would He ask me why I was eating vegetables and fruits only and not eating meat which He created for me and gave me both sets of teeth to eat meat and vegetables?

Thus, it was in this way Abraham used the “natural laws and forces of the heavens and the earth”, not only to reduce the knowledge of Godless science and religion to Reality, but also in the same way to superimpose all knowledge of science, religion, culture, politics, etc, one on top of the other without creating any boundaries within and between them that would make them separate and exclusive, thereby exposing all truths and falsehood in every situation of our lives.

I have written a 67 page E-book titled, “ABRAHAM’S FAITH: Post-Modern Way of Life, not Religion” using the “natural laws and forces of the heavens and the earth” to demonstrate this intricate balance between science, religion, culture, politics, etc, that reveal the “all truth” and falsehood within and between them.
