The Yemeni Crisis

The original post raised the question, can Islam reform itself of the ideology that Islam is at war with the rest of the world, and specifically, that radical Sunni Islam is at war also with other brands of Islam. This has led to Saudi adventurism in Yemen, which is now said to be the greatest humanitarian crisis in the world.

The conflict between the Houthis and the government is also seen as part of a regional power struggle between Shia-ruled Iran and Sunni-ruled Saudi Arabia.

The war in Yemen draws no condemnation from the Muslim world as a collective - it is merely considered a Geo Political issue - while a similar Geo Political issue of Israel occupying Palestine lands raises the collective hackles of all Muslims. The suffering in Yemen is beyond description. Yet there is no sympathy for Yemen.
