Dear Brother Jawaid Ahmed, As-saaamu-Aaykum.
Thank you for the link to HADITH A RE-EVAUATION by Kassim Ahmad.
Please note what Kassim Ahmad had to say about SALAAT:
On page 52, item 2 he states:
2. The Command to Pray: We have seen that the Divine command to pray, as with other religious rituals, was first given to Prophet Abraham and his followers, and this ritual prayer was handed down from generation to generation until Prophet Muhammad. This is testified both by the Quran and by history.
On page 56, item 4, under the heading “The True Position of the Hadith/Sunna” he states:
(4) Religious duties of regular prayer, fasting, charities and the optional pilgrimage were not delivered by way of hadith, but were religious practices handed down through generations from the time of Prophet Abraham.
When Dawood and I tried to explain that Qur’an and history testifies that most of what constitutes the five daily salaah in the same way that we hold dear to the Qur’an Alone knowledge of Islam, you have referred to Dawood and I as blind followers of Hadith.
Jawaid Bhai, I think that what you do not understand is the following verse of the Qur’an, which states:
13:17 He sends down water from the height causing the riverbeds to flow according to their measure and the flood bears on its surface swelling foam. When they use fire to refine metals for their jewelry or equipment, foam is produced like it. In this way, God is citing for you the example of the truth and falsehood. For, as far as the foam is concerned, it passes away as scum upon the riverbanks - While that which is of benefit to mankind, exists on earth. This is how God uses analogies for you to understand. [The real existence on earth is of that which benefits humanity]
