I agree and I see how you can understand what you do and you are absolutely correct. This is why this site is for discussions and most of us here follow the Quran and not the carp literature 'hadith' and any other unsubstantiated Persian/Zorostrian/Manicheism inspired literature. Unfortunately mainstream islam followers only follow this 'hadith'.
Because of the modern times and communication channels available, a clash between the 'hadith' followers and the 'Quran only' followers is forthcoming in a big way. It is not a question of if but when. It is also clear that the Quran itself is being understood with its correct meaning rather than the meaning ascribed by the criminals of Islam.
Another problem we have is our clergy. Although we are warned about the clergy and the Quran gives no special dispensation to the clergy, yet they continue to rein in with their twisted meaning of the book, and issue 'fatwas' that are in clear violation of the Quran.
Furthermore, please note that we follow more of what is in the Torah and the Bible than in the Quran. The Jews and the Christians have stopped following their own books but they are clearly present in the misinterpretation of the Quran and the 'hadith' are full of those ideas.
We can have a healthy discussions here. The intention is not to point out each others shortcomings but to build on our strength.
I, for one, do not believe in the crap literature. The Quran says, bring us your proof, my proof is the Quran. So when you quote 'hadith', I will agree that the 'hadith' say so, but I do not believe in them.
Quote the Quran and we will have a discussion. You quote your English translation and either I will prove your translation wrong or I will accept what it says.
