Dear brother, the above is yet another (if anyone needed one) clear example of bringing outside notions to bear on Quran. Following “Divine Message Closely, ... etc.” is not an issue. The issue is whether word “salat” can be translated to mean “following closely”? Quran was revealed to a people who knew the language in and out, so to speak. The same was captured in their poetry, lexicons and lughat. No understanding of Quran is acceptable if it does not go along the language itself. Stop making mockery of yourself. I ask Br. Tahir to quote some lexicons/lughat in support of his untenable arguments. He could not do so. Can you please do so? Parroting same old untenable and erroneous arguments are dead on arrival.
