Dawood: If by “ancestors” you mean the exalted prophet then yes, else no. The example of Call for prayers is an obvious one handed down to Muslims by prophet himself as I showed above. Doing “properly” is exactly the error both traditionalists and non-traditionalists like my brother are pursuing. The emphasis is on “form” and not on the goal/spirit for which Salat is mandated to begin with. You can put your feet two inches apart or two feet (similar to Adhan via phone or voice, etc.), it has no bearing on the purpose of the salat as long as you keep the purpose “remembrance of God” in focus.
From your statement, in order to know how to perform namaz we need to follow hadith of the Messenger when Quran says follow only Quran!
Quran says Messenger cannot add anything to Deen of Allah, so this is ancestor worship, even when applied to Messenger, and not following Allah as per Quran.
