Sorry to say but not finding a ritual prayer in the Quran, whether it is done with the right intention as you advocate or not as the majority namazis do it, is not blaming the Quran for my choice.
There is no choice to do a Quranic sanctioned physical prayer or not do it in the same way I can choose not to do abstinence in Ramadan, ignore the do not eat etc. as the 'do not eat' equivalent instructions are not there in the Quran.
The fact is that the Quran does not say repeat Surah 1, fives times a day, at dawn, etc, a requirement of the namaz ritual, does not link it with any verse with the word salat in, so is another none Quranic act performed. Repeating a supplication to show us the right path when the right path is there is a once only event if you accept the Quran as a Book that gives the right path.
Your Salat 1-5 is based on none Quranic sourced revelation which is complete fiction, made up to justify what is not in the Quran, so is not a matter of accept this or not but whether we accept a falsehood to justify innovated acts.
