I guess I asked you to insert the word “duty” in these verses and then see for yourself how absurd it looks. Here is for your convenience.
[3:38-9]: At that (right there and then), Zechariah called upon his Lord, saying, "My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication." So the angels called him while he was standing in DUTY (Qaimun Yussalli) in the chamber, "Indeed, Allah gives you good tidings of John, confirming a word from Allah and [who will be] honorable, abstaining [from women], and a prophet from among the righteous."
Again, what kind of “DUTY” Zaharia was doing in the chamber? What is the relationship of this “DUTY” to 3:38 in which Zacharia is making supplication to God?
Haha, your favorite verse “Birds with wings spread out” is a pointer to human Salat, but just above in 3:38-9, a prophet of God doing Salat, praying to his Lord, is not of any consequence to you. Waste of time, brother.
What is so great about everything knowing its duty? Programmed entities have no sense of knowing their duties, rather they have instincts. Duty is a word unique to humans. Anyway, Does and how this prove Salat=Duty? Nonsense.
However, one thing is clear in 24:41, Subh and Salat at least for humans are linked.

LoL*1M on Mulla Dawood. I need to grow a long beard. This made my day.
You wrote: “Sam Gerrans: 2:45 And seek help in patience and duty. And it is hard save for the humble.”
Dear brother, when things are taken out of context, when words are translated without recourse to established grammar, when words are mistranslated from specific to general, any meanings are possible. This is what Sam is doing you are trying to justify. You are willing to substitute anything for Salat but prayers. This is your sole goal. Continue chasing the mirage.
