Dawood; They were pagans, mushriks, no divine book with them through which they could remember God. God did not say, theirs is not Salat, rather He said their Salat is composed of meaningless rituals of clapping and whistling, which cannot bring about remembering of God because God’s revelations are missing from it. Do Muslims do clapping and whistling in their Salat or they read the verses of Quran? You are confused beyond belief.
Answer;Brother Dawood, Quran says recite the Book which is done 5 times a day in a language the majority do not understand and do not do what it is saying and you say this is not equivalent nonsense to whistling and clapping! Confused is the person that repeats words back to Allah that He gave and they think this is remembering Allah or ‘reading’ verses of the Quran. Do you ‘read’ verses of the Quran during namaz?
1.look at and comprehend the meaning of (written or printed matter) by interpreting the characters or symbols of which it is composed.
2.discover (information) by reading it in a written or printed source.
3.UNDERSTAND OR INTERPRET THE NATURE OR SIGNIFICANCE OF.
4.hear and understand the words of someone speaking
Where is the Quran understood even in the jumma khutba? Ghamdi was right when he said the people of the state, government, should be reading the khutbas, not the mulla’s.
Dawood; God says, purpose of Salat is His remembrance via Quran for Muslims. Quran is read in Salat. Upholding the commands is the second phase, which is Taqwa in Quran. Period.
Answer :If I ask you to show me what 2+2 is equal to and you say 4, then a few hours later I ask what is 2+2 and you say 4, then again, and again, 5 times a day, 7 days a week, then you would think I was an idiot or suffering from dementia.
The Quran, Surah 1, show me the straight path, Surah 2 etc onwards, the straight path shown, job done, get on with putting it into practice. But no, we are required to ask 5 times a day, and remembering what Allah says is only repeating the words back to Him!
Do you remember what Allah asks of you in the meagre verses of the Quran that are recited 5 times a day? What about the rest? If the salat on day one is reading in a language you understand verses 1 to 20 of Quran, then you know what is asked of you and you do it. Salat 2 is then reading verses 20-40, then salat 3, 40-60, etc until Quran is finished, or you read verses of Quran that help with a particular problem you are facing and it solves these, then you have the right to say you are remembering Allah, following His commands. Prostrate yourself to Him physically if you wish, because you have done what is asked. Otherwise, it is wishful thinking that the namazi is learning anything about the Quran or upholding the commands, when they are performing their ritual.
Dawood; Since you have not understood the above purpose of the Salat, you cannot fathom how Salat was the mechanism to transform both prophets and people who followed them. Salat was the chief means of remembrance of God, which changed their inner selves (this is what change themselves mean), their psyche. This inner change eventually impacted their words and actions (Taqwa), transforming the community.
Answer; If remembering Allah is only by reciting a set number of verses 5 times a day, without meaning, as noted above, then I should do what the sufi does and repeat Allah a 1000 times a day. This is equivalent to the namaz and even if I learnt what I was saying I would not be learning anything new, not remembering any new commands, not doing anything new to benefit myself or humanity.
If you say this learning comes after the namaz, the namaz changes the psyche to facilitate the following the commands, Prophets etc did it, then this should have my slam dunk effect on everyone who does it and you know very well that the majority are trailing behind in Quranic and humanity ignorance.
I am saying following Allah by remembering what He asks of us is much more important than the ritual of physical prostration when you have not bothered to submit yourself mentally to His commands.
My apologies in advance for more of my nonsense.
