Dear all, word Mariam is used in old testament twice. Once for sister of Moses and Aaron. One other place to refer ( to likely a man) in genealogy of Judah (1 Chronicles 4:17).
In new testament Jesus mother's name is Maria Anglicized as Mary.
Here is the translation of a verse containing this word.
يَا1 مَرْيَمُ2 اقْنُتِي3 لِرَبِّكِ4 وَاسْجُدِي5 وَارْكَعِي6 مَعَ الرَّاكِعِينَ
3:43 You are warned1, to quit forever2, constant obedience3 to your foundation (Rabb)4, submissiveness5, as well bowing6 along with all those bowing to it.
Yusuf Ali: "O Mary! worship Thy Lord devoutly: Prostrate thyself, and bow down (in prayer) with those who bow down."
