Again, you are putting the cart in front of the horse!
If Makkan idolators with all their “fairy tales” can come together to sign the peace treaty of Hudaibiya with the Prophet (S), why do you think our Barelwi and Jamaati brothers can’t for moonsighting?
9:7 How can there be a treaty with God and His Messenger for the idolaters (when they have repeatedly violated it)? Exempted are those with whom you make a treaty at the Sacred Masjid. If they honor and uphold such a treaty, so shall you. God loves those who live upright.
We had both sort of idolators back then - the violators and the peaceful ones. The treaty included all kinds. We should expect the same composition today, but there has to be an ‘agreed upon approach’ in place to move forward, regardless of fairy tales and fabrications each group brings in.
You will move nowhere for the next 1400 years with a mindset of speculation that it would be a wasted effort on fairy tales and individual interpretations of verses. ‘Mutual Consultation’ is the key, and it is already showing results.
