Notice: there is no mention of Imam or Imamate or anything of this sort!!!
I do not believe in ANY firqah and would like to be called just a follower of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) instead of a follower of this imam or that imam. As such I shouldn't be joining this debate but seeing the futility of we discussing something that we cannot alter, I am compelled to say the following:
Having said that, your argument of no mention of Imam or Immamate is not very cogent and seem to be out of context. Is there any mention of the Imamain Arba, Sahaba Ikram, or other Wali Ullahs and Sufis, etc. also in this Ayah mubarakah? None.
Shia believe that there has to be an Imam to interpret Qura'n where required. So let them live with it. Ahl e Sunnat wal Jama't have their own 4 Imams and follow them. So let them do that. Why must we try to impose our thoughts and beliefs upon each other. Everyone will be answerable to Allah (swt) on the Day of Judgment for his/her deeds and misdeeds. Who are we to decide as to who is right or not???
