There is midnight sun (or more accuratly 24 hour sun) north of the arctic circle only, the arcticle circle crosses Norway a bit south of Bodø (at Saltfjellet mountain pass). The further north, the longer the midnight sun period.There is absolutly no need to go further north than Bodø/Lofoten to see the midnight sun. Polar light (aurora borealis) can not be seen in the period when there is midnight sun.
Approximate period for seeing the midnight sun:
Tromsø: May 20 - July 22
Svolvær (Lofoten): May 27 - July 17
Bodø: June 3 - July 8
Should they fast for 24hours or do they accept sensible hours which they agree upon? Or is not eating during daylight a fairy tale?
