What you are saying is very true. The world is in utter chaos.

The people who are largely responsible for it are the Jews, Christians and Muslims. They not only belong to the Abrahamic Faith but they also occupy a very strategic and influential part of the world.

Their Prophets were not sent to spread any religion. They were sent to provide Guidance to all aspects of life, both secular and religious.

For example, Prophet Muhammad (s) was only one in world history who was “most extremely successful in both the secular and religious levels”. Reverend Bosworth Smith said, “He was Pope and Caesar in one”.

Likewise, early Muslims (Arabs) were totally insignificant in world history before the Qur’an was revealed to them, but as soon as the Qur’an was revealed to them, they conquered the world and ruled over it for a thousand years making great contribution to maths, science, medicine, commerce, culture, politics, etc.

I think the early Muslims were blessed with the knowledge of Diversity, Democracy and Tawhid (unity and universality) from the Qur’an to maintain this balance with the secular and religious.

Likewise, I think this balance between the secular and religious began to erode when the Sunnah of the Prophet (s) was defined to limit Islam to the 7th century way of life of the Hadith.

At the same time, the rise of secularism also played its part. It did not allow Islam to distinguish God-given diversities from man-made ones.

Hence, in the Abrahamic Faith, it is not atheism to reject religion that does not conform to the secular and scientific knowledge of the Qur’an but it is atheism to reject the existence of God.

Therefore, all we have to do to return to our former glory is to define Sunnah as “path and practice of Qur’an” and distinguish God-given diversities from those made by man.

God Bless,
AK Sayed (South Africa).
