In reference to my response above as to whether animals exhibit homosexual behaviors, I only posted the article in response to Mubashir’s question on that topic. I believe Quasim’s response to Mubashir on this matter is the better response in that man cannot be compared to animals. The Quran is quite clear that acting upon homosexual urges is verboten as shown in the verses that various contributors on this thread have posted. Additionally, the Quran delineates appropriate sexual conduct between men and women.
If one can agree that one’s sexual orientation is not a matter of choice but rather is innate, we are left to comprehend why some members of society are asked to deny or suppress this intrinsic part of themselves (or to act on it in privacy with a consenting partner answering only to God at the day of judgment). Does homosexuality fall under the category of trials by which one will be tested?
