Azizam,

You said: "No ritualised prostrations in any form are required of us. This is something that those who follow their ancestors will refuse because they are not true believers in the Word of Allah."

With due respects to all opinions, apparently, you have taken a tough stance here but this is EXACTLY what we need to do when it comes to the Qur'an. We have only recently seen the subject of "Wonders of Bismillahi Allahu Akbar" becoming confounded due to too much "tolerance" on the part of some of us who knew better. [The Captain, Br Mubashir, Prof Rafi, Helen and some other men and women of knowledge are requested to be a bit unyielding on Quranic matters.]

2:42 WA LA TALBISUL HAQQA BILBAATIL WA TAKTUMUL HAQQA WA ANTUM TA'LAMOON.

2:42 And cover not the truth with falsehood, nor conceal the truth while you are well aware of it. [2:159, 3:71]

REQUEST: And here follows a glimpse of QXPv trying to let you know that QXP is an ongoing, progressive and evolving project even today. Azizam, if ever you can think of a better word or rendition, please let me know, barring minor semantics.

5:44 We did send down the Torah containing guidance and a light. By it the Prophets who always sincerely submitted to God, judged the Jews. And the rabbis and the priests judged according to God’s scripture as they were commanded to observe. To them was entrusted the protection of God’s Book, and they were witnesses to it. So, fear not people, but fear Me and do not trade away My revelations for petty gains. And whoever fails to judge and rule by what God has revealed, such are the disbelievers.

5:45 For them (Jews), We had decreed in the Torah: Life for life, eye for eye, nose for nose, ear for ear, tooth for tooth, and equal injury for injury (Exodus 21:23). But if one forgoes retaliation by way of charity, it will absolve his imperfections. And whoever fails to judge or rule by what God has revealed, such are wrongdoers.” [See 5:41. That was a time-bound Mosaic law specific to the Israelites. The Final revelation of God, the Qur’an has updated laws for all humanity for all times. Incidentally, Exodus in the Bible as seen today, leaves no room for forgiveness of the mentioned offenses]

God bless you all!
