Dear Brother Jawaid,
I deeply appreciate your response to my post. I do remember reading Allama G.A.P"s
"Islam- A Challenge To Religion" in which he said we should continue with the namaz.
I was surprised and confused because I had eventually ceased to perform the 5X daily prayers.
I had been reading the QXP, Dr.Shabbir's books and writings, his and your posts in Beacon Forum and Salaat
Forum on the subject. In horror, I thought I had gone off-track.
I reread repeatedly all this literature . Both you and Dr.Shabbir had stated your unequivocal stand against namaz.
Having unilaterally appointed both of you as my teachers, it follows that your thoughts and views are inspirational
to me. I am sure you would agree with me Brother Jawaid, that there are people (like me) who cannot truly
understand God's instruction manual, at least not all of it.
I fully support your view that the 5 daily ritual prayers do nothing for humanity,or to the praying Muslims.
It really is a senseless ritual. As Allama G.A.P. said, (pg.74 Islam - A challenge To Religion) "the rational test
(of Quranic teaching) will take the form of determining whether or not the teaching is in direct conflict with
reason and whether it furthers the interests of humanity." To me namaz, does not fulfill either criteria.
Thank you once again for you explanation and answer to my post.
Salaam to you and all readers of the Forum.
May God Bless you.
