Most Respected Brother Dr. Shabbir,
I am one of the very few women who do not wear a head cover in Malaysia.
I almost did after returning from Hajj. Then I discovered Beacon Forum and QXP, thank
the Almighty God!. I am spared from committing Shirk, by obeying man made laws.
However, in Malaysia, both Muslim men and women give me dirty looks as if I am not fit to walk
God's earth. Makes me feel like a worm and an oddity. All I have is a large shawl to cover the
shoulders and chest.
Some friends asked why I do not wear "tudung" (head cover, covering head, ears and chin) and I
replied that there's nowhere in the Qura'n advocating this. Following questions ensued; What Qur'an
was I reading and what translations, which eventually led to their conclusion that I have strayed and I am lost.
Yes, I explained about the corruption of Islam for the past 14 hundred years, about the QXP, how it has been
rendered by Dr. Shabbir Ahmed who had studied The Quraish Arabic dialect, the language of the Quran, to no
avail. I really do not know how to spread the message of true Islam further. People here are buried in deep N2I.
So I continue my life without the "tudung", very much aware of how I am perceived and try very hard not to be bothered
by it all. In truth, sometimes I do feel conscious and bothered. Do you have any advice for me?
Thank you for your patience.Salaam to all Forum readers.
