Dear brother Ijlal,

I acknowledge your posts for thoughtfulness and quality. You will get even better with experience.

LOOK HOW KIND *DR. SHABBIR IS:

Can we be indecent? Yes! Should we? No!

However, Brother, a Muslim must not fall for "political correctness". The truth must be spoken when necessary but always in a decent manner.

DR. SHABBIR WRITES SOME GENERAL GUIDELINES FROM THE QUR'AN FOR EVERYBODY:

2:42 Do not confound the truth with falsehood, nor conceal the truth while you are well aware of it. [2:159, 3:71]

Do not be arrogant with people, and do not walk haughtily on earth. [31:18]

Walk humbly and lower your voice in humility. [31:19]

Pride of knowledge is the height of arrogance since above every man of knowledge there is one who knows more. [12:76]

Do not shout. Speak politely keeping your voice low. [31/19]

Do not be a bragging boaster. [31/18]

Sublimate your anger into creative energy. [3:134]

Do not ridicule others, nor defame them. [49:11]

Do not insult each other by offensive nicknames. [49:11]

Avoid suspicion and guesswork. [49:11]

Respond to harsh words and actions with kindness. [13:23]

DR. SHABBIR ENDS ABOVE HERE.

MODERATOR: WHAT IS WRONG ABOVE?

IJLAL: Thank you so much for adding a wealth of wisdom in support of what the conduct of those 'who have chosen to believe' should be.

DR. SHABBIR WRITES SOME GENERAL GUIDELINES FROM THE QUR'AN FOR EVERYBODY. THINK, IS YOUR "THANKS" A BIT SARCASTIC. MAY BE NOT.

DR. SHABBIR VERY SINCERELY OFFERS YOU AND OTHERS DR. NAIK'S CONTACT INFO: You can reach Dr. Naik as below:

DR. ZAKIR ABDUL-KARIM NAIK, ISLAMIC RESEARCH FOUNDATION
56/58 Tandel Street (North), Dongri, Mumbai - 400 009 (India)
Tel : (0091-22) 23736875 (8 lines) Fax : (0091-22) 23730689
e-mail: zakir@irf.net website : http://www.irf.net

IJLAL: ... To be honest, I feel a little sad you gave his contact info to me.....

MODERATOR: SAD FOR WHAT? DEAR IJLAL, YOU MIGHT NEED PROFESSIONAL HELP FOR DEPRESSION.

DR. SHABBIR FURTHER WRITES: A brilliant brother, Irfan, has emailed this to me about Dr. Naik: Memorizing the Qur'an or memorizing other religions' verses and being able to quote them left and right does not mean that the person has a good or even the correct knowledge of Islam. In fact, memorizing proves NOTHING. This does not provide any evidence of a person’s ability to reason analytically. Talk to any Hafiz and you will know what I mean. Zakir Naik is a prime example of this fact. He reads and memorizes and takes a lot of pride on being given clapping and standing ovation when he quotes several verses of other religions and the Qur’an in ONE breath. What is this? It’s what they call “mob psychology” that has NOTHING to do with the truth, nor does it constitute a good debating manner. In the West, such a person who thrives on being able to squirt verses left and right without a solid point being made will be rejected outright.

*Irfan

MODERATOR: INDEED, A GOOD ANALYSIS BY DR. IRFAN.

IJLAL: As I clearly wrote I do agree with what brother Irfan has written against Drs. Israr Ahmad and Zakir Naik, I hope there has been no misunderstanding on that part. It was not meant to be sarcastic at all, and had nothing to do with any soft spot that I may have been 'assumed' to have for the above two scholars, (which, I definitely have not!)

MODERATOR: CONFUSED THOUGHTS FROM A CONFUSED MIND OF IJLAL.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

IJLAL: .... I can be polite to such a person, but never entertain doubts; unlike many N2 Muslims, who would accept what we tell them about the evident truth, yet be unable to declare Hadith wrong, or think badly of the 'Alims' they have been following, lest they unleash the wrath of God upon themselves, --- the truth that God has directed me to you, o dear Brother! I am nothing but a life-long student like yourself, though far behind in knowledge and wisdom.

MODERATOR: WE MUST BE POLITE TO ALL INSPITE OF A DISAGREEMENT. DO YOU KNOW WHAT WRATH OF GOD MEANS? IF YOU THINK GOOD OF 'ALIMS' (MULLAHS), YOU ARE STRONGLY N2I, DEAR BROTHER.

IJLAL: As for the politeness part, it was just a thought that had occurred to me a few times. Again, as already stated, it was not a direct offensive against brother Irfan. It just happened that his post gave me an opportunity to voice out what I already had in mind.

MODERATOR: YOUR MIND NEEDS CLEANING THROUGH SOME GOOD BOOKS. YOU DO NOT KNOW THE HIGHLY SCHOLASTIC CALIBER OF BROTHER IRFAN.

IJLAL: Dear brother, I already know Dr. Zakir Naik's contact info but have neither made contact nor ever wish to unless it is for a debate with him. For that, I still have years of homework to do. To be honest, I feel a little sad you gave his contact info to me. It felt as if you still considered me a follower of Hadith and not of Allah.

MODERATOR: YOU THINK OF A DEBATE WITH THE CHAMPION DEBATER, DR. ZAKIR NAIK? MAY ALLAH HAVE MERCY ON YOU! HE WILL KNOCK YOU OUT IN 30 SECONDS.

IJLAL: May God bless you with even more wisdom!

MODERATOR: MAY GOD BLESS YOU WITH WISDOM, KNOWLEDGE AND GOOD MANNERISM!
