Many times before I found the Qur'an and before I had any faith to speak of, I was concerned, angry, and saddened by the ultimately negative impact humanity seemed to have had thus far on our planet. I was also opposed to our tampering in the rest of the universe (ie, space, other planets...) for fear that we would only ruin every wonderful thing that we came across.
I realize now that this fear was unfounded and came only out of a lack of understanding of the universal laws.
I am sometimes, even now, saddened by the apparent state of humanity and its collective impact. The difference now being that I am assured, and reassured that the universe is and will continue to function only under God's laws and while turned toward Him - aware or unaware.
3:109 (His Rules are operative in the entire Universe.) Unto God
belongs all that is in the Highs and all that is in the Lows, and all things
are constantly working to fulfill the Divine Plan, moving and evolving
toward what they are meant to be. All affairs turn to God (in order that
the incredible discipline in the Universe be maintained.) [Lillah = For
God = For the sake of God = In the cause of God = Belonging to God =
Being subservient to Him = Working to fulfill the Divine Plan]
