Some Muslims whose relatives risked their lives on 9/11 to help the injured or recover bodies have come forward to support the opening of a mosque and cultural center near Ground Zero.
Talat Hamdani, 58, a mother from Lake Grove who lost her son on 9/11, faced a raucous audience last week at a Lower Manhattan Community Board 1 meeting. In the audience were some people fiercely opposed to it.
Rudi Odehb said "I don't want him to grow up feeling ashamed of who he is, and I'm not sorry that I'm a Muslim," but there is still opposition going on (here is the link to read about opposition)
Hundreds oppose mosque at site near Ground Zero : Mosque opponent Nancy Nee, the sister of fallen firefighter George Cain, said, "I feel good to see all this support. I'm not against the religion, but to bring a mosque down here is disrespectful and insensitive."
What really amazed me that USA has one of the best and informative education system and but some people still can't figure out that Islam is all about peace and humanity and a handful people can't represent or can't be voice of more then billions folks across the globe.
Thanks and Best Regards,
