Salaam Forum Members and respected Dr. Shabbir,
I am Ahmadi Muslim. (Yes, Dr. Shabbir, I've already read Hashish from Qadian :) )
We are considered non-Muslim mainly because of that we do not consider Muhammad SAW the final prophet.
However, what is not always emphasized is the details of our belief. We believe Islam is the final religion, Quran is the last book, and that Muhammad is the last law-bearing prophet. However, we leave door open for prophets within Islam to appear (as we consider Mirza Ghulam Ahmad).
In my humble opinion, many forum members may change their minds after knowing this, and consider us within the fold of mainstream Islam (or N2I Islam).
We are not too different from Sunni/Shia in this respect. They just believe in the return of an old prophet (Jesus) to sort out Muslim problems in the end. We believe a new person can come as well (but within Islam and a follower of Muhammad).
love and regards,
