AA, Dear Sidqi,
I fully agree that engaging ourselves in the mysteries of the Quran should not take up our time; actions speak louder than words, so implementing Allah’s Deen is most important.
However [you did not think I was not going to put a ’however’, did you?], on Saturday Dr Zakir gave a lecture and mentioned soothsayers and fortune tellers who were only right some of the time by pure guesswork; chance. He then spoilt his talk by saying that some soothsayers were in communication with Jinn who would fly up to the ‘lowest heaven’, listen to the Commandments of Allah to His angels, and then return and tell them to the soothsayers; thus letting them know future events. People believe this nonsense; people have been killed for ‘communicating’ and being ‘possessed’ by Jinn, so it is not something trivial.
My objective is to show someone, even one person, whoever wants to listen, what I perceive the reality to be and make them think about their nonsensical beliefs. One wrong belief leads to another, with people unable to think for themselves and are easily led astray by the N2I Imams, [‘scholars’ only in name, not in thoughts or actions].
3:70 says “But only the men and women of understanding will bear this fact in mind”. So I keep this type of writing as a form of mental gymnastics, exercising my ageing grey cells so I know they are still there!
