Thankyou Sister, I have no doubt about verse 4:129 at all , I can feel it's just a situation of what usually happens in life of a married couple and the women (in general, or wives in general) feel "hanging" between the feelings that they are wanted or are un-wanted because of the typical nature of common men who become "indifferent"at the time of such relationship-complication. If we keep the idea of "Multiple Marraiges" in mind then the verse 4:129 "jumps out of the context" that starts from 4:127 and ends at 4:130 and 4:131.
Now coming back to 4:3, yes, I'm already thinking the way you're thinking, not after your wrote something which was very inspiring, but even before it. The format of the verse and the context, of-course, apparantly goes in favour of what you have suggested. It never appealed to me like an ORDER or OPTIONS of getting married (multiple times), normally or under some really social emergengies. There's something simple, and it has to be, on account of what the "nature of discussion" is.Which is sad and very sympathetic, rather than GLAMOUROUS. Thankyou and Allah bless you my Sister.Farrukh.
