Behna Ji! It's never too late to mend. To tell you the truth, I happen to be a curious person, but it's not a habit without purpose. It's a search for Truth, only. I believe when we find a Truth, it brings Peace and tranquility. What is better than the divine message to seek the Truth for a Muslim. This world is full of Muslims who don't understand Islam. Dr. Shabbir's forum and the QXP has paved and avenue for such Truth-Seekers, without exceptions. (It's not a flattery, as you already know I'm ready to disagree without being disagreeable :) )

Now back to my research. It's amazing that QXP gives you a great opportunity and inspiration to RE-THINK and that's what I like about it.I have been consulting other translations all my life and had always been skeptical about the angle ,the Quran looks at a woman. Sometimes it's really discouraging when you have to discuss these aspects with non-Muslim firends and they become painfully mocking regarding women's status in Islam.

I searched for verses in QXP , especailly the one like big eyed women of paradise, etc. as if men are being aroused to win a lottery-like-reward if they submit in this world, plus this issue of multiple marraiges (under normal circumstances) seems as if Allah Almighty doesn't care about how a women should feel with a "divided" husband. To me it sounds like an open injustice and can never bring Peace in the society. But unfortunately (:)) I could not find anything solid from my stand-point , which I wanted to explore.

However I found one particular case (The one in my previous post) and the one down here that "shows" more "stress" and "strictness" for the un-acceptable belaviour of women. What do you say?

واللاتي ياتين الفاحشة من نسائكم فاستشهدوا عليهن اربعة منكم فان شهدوا فامسكوهن في البيوت حتي يتوفاهن الموت او يجعل الله لهن سبيلا

4:15

4:15(Protection of honor and chastity for men and women, both, is the cornerstone of a virtuous society. 17:32, 4:24.) If any woman or a group of women spread sexual immorality or lewdness in the society, it is required that the appropriate court takes four honorable and reliable witnesses. If their testimony corroborates with other evidence (12:26), confine them to their houses, since immorality is as contagious as good conduct. This confinement would be for an indefinite period, unless such women seek the Way of God, such as repentance and making amendment, or the singles among them get honorably married.

واللذان ياتيانها منكم فاذوهما فان تابا واصلحا فاعرضوا عنهما ان الله كان توابا رحيما
4:16If the two of you spread such immorality or lewdness in the society, both of them shall be punished (as determined by the appropriate court of law). But if they repent and mend their ways, leave them alone. God is the Acceptor of repentance, Merciful. (This includes homosexuality, male and female.)
